Oliviero, George
George Oliviero came through the ranks as a member of several Boston area corps including the Statesmen, the Cambridge Caballeros and St Kevin’'s Emerald Knights. He later taught the Boston Crusaders and the 27th Lancers. In 1971-'72 George instructed the Hurricanes as part of Ike Iannessa’'s visual team and through his professional approach and knowledgeable insight made a positive impact in those memorable years.
George became a visual judge for DCI in 1974. He has served as the DCI visual caption chairmen and also as a member of the DCI task forces on competition, education and judging. George helped develop judging and teaching manuals and has served as director of education for DCI.
Pace, Ralph
Ralph Pace penned the visual program for the Hurricanes in 1984. He had gained notoriety and recognition over a 25 year career primarily in the DCI designing shows for the likes of Phantom Regiment, the Cavaliers, Crossmen and the Spirit of Atlanta. In addition, he also wrote and taught some highly successful editions of the Reading Buccaneers from the early '70'’s through the early '80'’s.
Wedge, James
James Wedge
brought his considerable talents to the Hurricanes as brass arranger in 1983 and '84. Over the years Jim has arranged and taught drum corps and high schools along the east coast, however, he is most often remembered and renowned as the brass arranger and instructor of the 27th Lancers from 1968 until 1982. During this time with the Lancers he helped bring them to national prominence and numerous titles.
